Subject
Course, Curriculum
noun
If you've got an eye on a certain course, it's a subject you really want to take. Maybe you're in school and that means you'll be taking a lot of courses. Maybe you're a teacher and you're planning out your curriculum. Either way, you have your eye on the course-prize.
The readings are the on'yomi readings, but you learned the kun'yomi reading for 目 before. So, you have to remember that this word uses もく instead of め. To do that, imagine seeing that the subjects you're allowed to take next term are different than everyone else's. The other kids notice, and start mocking (もく) you for it. Think of what those subjects are and how you're being mocked for having to take them.
