The instruction business is when you give a lesson or class to someone.
This is a jukugo word, which usually means on'yomi readings from the kanji. If you know the readings of your kanji you'll know how to read this as well.
今日は初めて日本語で授業を受けました。
Today, I had my first class in Japanese.
その教師は、いつも白いマスクをつけて授業をしていた。
That teacher always taught the class while wearing a white mask.
昨日病気で欠席したため、今日は授業の遅れを取り戻すために忙しい。
Yesterday I was absent from being sick, so today I’m busy trying to catch up with the lesson I missed.
