You must obey your business. When you're in this situation, you’re engaging in work.
This is most commonly used in the compounds 従業員 (employee) and 従業者 (worker). You might also come across other forms, such as 従業する, but these are generally found in formal writing.
This is a jukugo word, which usually means on'yomi readings from the kanji. If you know the readings of your kanji you'll know how to read this as well.
ここの従業員たちは、大阪支店の従業員たちより楽観的なようだ。
Employees here seem to be more optimistic than their Osaka-branch counterparts.
この会社に従業している従業者数は約百人です。
The number of employees working for this company is approximately one hundred.
従業する業務内容は会社と相談の上、決定します。
The content of the work to be engaged in will be determined through consultation with the company.
休日などを含め、雇われていた全期間のことを「従業期間」と言います。
Including holidays and such, the entire period of employment is referred to as the "employment period."
