To Serve
intransitive verb, ichidan verb
Everything we're doing is to serve you, you know.
This verb is a bit archaic and therefore has a formal feel to it. It's used to talk about serving emperors, kings, and gods, among others.
To serve you well, we've gotten ourselves two cars (つか). If one breaks down, we can still serve you with the other car.
この家に仕える使用人は、とても礼儀が正しい。
The servants who serve in this house are very polite.
その女性は、明治天皇に仕えていた女官のようです。
The woman seemed to be a female official in the service of the Meiji Emperor.
はじめまして。今日から神に仕えることになった天使です。
