A pile of dirt fell on you and now your legs and (scuba) fins are sticking out from under it, turning red. You know, because you've been stuck in the sun so long. Everything's all sunburned and red. Can scuba fins get a sunburn? Yeah, when it's red hot outside. That's why this means "red."
